WIU-QC Development Director Interviews Feb. 24 and 25

MOLINE, IL — Two candidates for the director of development at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities will be on campus for interviews Monday, Feb. 24 and Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Candidates include Paul Plagenz, director of development, Quad City Symphony Orchestra, Davenport, IA (Feb. 24) and Steven Mohr, former director of corporate and foundation relations, Figge Art Museum, Davenport, IA (Feb. 25). Interview schedules and complete itineraries will be available online at www.wiu.edu/employment.

An open meeting for faculty and staff will be held with each candidate from 10:30-11:20 a.m. (Feb. 24 and 25) at the WIU-QC Riverfront Campus, room 103/104.

Plagenz has served as the development director for the Quad City Symphony Orchestra since August 2011. Previously, he was the vice president of development at Junior Achievement of the Heartland in Moline (2006-11). He also served as the events specialist at Royal Neighbors of America in Rock Island (2002-06) and as the general manager of The Abbey Hotel in Bettendorf (IA) from 1994-2006. Plagenz earned his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University (Columbus) in hospitality management.

Mohr served as the director of corporate and foundation relations at the Figge Art Museum from 2009-13; previously, he was a development officer at the Figge Art Museum (2009-11). Mohr serves as the treasurer (2012-present) for the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Illinois Quad Cities and was a member of the American Alliance of Museums from 2009-13. Mohr earned his bachelor's degree in sociology/anthropology at Illinois State University (Bloomington-Normal).
