WIU Education Law Conference March 7; Register by Feb. 28

MACOMB, IL — The 25th annual Western Illinois University Education Law Conference for Administrators, Teachers and Board Members will feature presentations covering the law and contemporary challenges that districts face. The conference is set for 8 a.m.-noon Friday, March 7 in the University Union Heritage Room on the Macomb campus. The conference is open to students, as well.

Topics and speakers for this year's conference include:

  • Trends in Employee Rights and Dismissals, Including PERA, presented by Dennis Weedman
  • Evaluation Bargaining: NEW Rules, Regulations, & Rights (and a bullying update), presented by David Braun
  • Student Discipline Review and Update, presented by Jay Greening

The conference will begin with breakfast and registration from 8-9 a.m., with the plenary session presentations beginning at 9 a.m.
The individual fee for conference registration is $75, and students can register for $35. Fees include all presentations, conference materials, breakfast and refreshments.
