Thanks to the constant support of Western Illinois University fans, the Leathernecks have advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA 6th Fan Competition. The Fighting Leathernecks advanced late Sunday night (March 2) following a 57/43 percent voting edge over Summit League rival South Dakota State University. Western Illinois is currently battling the Arkansas State University Red Wolves in the Final Four of the 6th Fan contest.

MACOMB, IL - Thanks to the constant support of Western Illinois University fans, the Leathernecks have advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA 6th Fan Competition.

The Fighting Leathernecks advanced late Sunday night following a 57/43 percent voting edge over South Dakota State University (SDSU). Western Illinois is currently battling the Arkansas State University Red Wolves in the Final Four of the 6th Fan contest.

For making the Sweet Sixteen cut, Western earned $10,000 toward the University's general scholarship fund. The winner of the overall competition will win $100,000, which will be put toward the University's general scholarship fund, as well.

The institution with the most votes by 10:59:59 p.m. (CT) Sunday, March 9, will advance to the 6th Fan Championship. Fans are encouraged to continue voting via Facebook, Twitter (by using the hashtags #6thFan #WILL) and via 6thfan.ncaa.com.

Each round of voting will last one week, leading up to the announcement of the overall winner Sunday, March 16. In addition, those who register to vote on NCAA.com have the chance to win either an iPad Air (one person per round) or an all-expense paid trip to the 2015 Men's Final Four in Indianapolis.
