MACOMB, IL -- Attention Leathernecks fans! There's a new, faster (and NCAA approved!) way to vote Western all the way to 100k! Simply go to wiu.edu/voteWIU and follow the instructions. Vote for Western Illinois University in the NCAA 6th Fan Competition by typing in the captcha code over ... and over and over ... again.

And for those lucky students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends going on Spring Break next week, don't take a break from voting (remember, it's now easier!). While driving to your destination: vote (passengers only, please!); sitting in the airport: vote; lounging by the pool (or on the beach): vote; or hanging at your parents' house: vote, vote, vote!

For making the Sweet Sixteen cut, Western earned $10,000 toward the University's general scholarship fund. The winner of the overall competition will win $100,000 for general scholarships.

The Fighting Leathernecks advanced in the contest late Sunday night following a 57/43 percent voting edge over South Dakota State University (SDSU). Western Illinois is currently battling the Arkansas State University Red Wolves in the Final Four of the 6th Fan contest.

The institution with the most votes by 10:59:59 p.m. (CT) Sunday, March 9, will advance to the 6th Fan Championship. Fans may also continue voting once per day via Facebook and Twitter (by using the hashtags #6thFan #WILL) and or multiple times via 6thfan.ncaa.com (or wiu.edu/voteWIU).

Each round of voting will last one week, leading up to the announcement of the overall winner Sunday, March 16.
