Color Craze 5K Set for April 5 at WIU

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's 2014 Color Craze 5K, to raise money for the Special Olympics Area 4 and the Wounded Warrior Project, will take place Saturday, April 5 at Vince Grady Field. Check-in starts at 9 a.m.

The Color Craze 5K, is sponsored by Eta Sigma Gamma, the health sciences honorary society, and Phi Epsilon Sigma, the kinesiology honorary society, and the WIU Vets Club.

At each kilometer, a station will be set up where participants will be covered in color. The race will begin and end at Vince Grady Field and is open to walkers and runners ages 7 years and up. No strollers or pets will be allowed in the race.

The race begins at 10 a.m., and a Color Crazy Dance Party begins at 10:45 a.m.

Co-sponsors currently include McDonough District Hospital, Coca-Cola, Grand Escape Day Spa and Salon, Prestige Communications, NTN Bower, WESTEC, the College of Education and Human Services, Hy-Vee Food Store of Macomb, Sports Corner @124 and Snap Fitness.

Registration before March 22 is $35 ($50 after March 22). Registration can also be completed on race day. The fee includes a Color Craze t-shirt, an individual color packet, entrance to the after-party and after-race refreshments.
