MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's Department of Communication and Professor David Zanolla will once again offer the "Disney World Communication Culture" course in Fall 2014.

This unique course, called "Disney World Communication Culture," will provide learning opportunities on campus as well as in Orlando, FL, where students will study the organizational communication of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Through the course, students will be able to participate in tours and master classes about an organization and how its 70,000 employees create and maintain an effective culture. Zanolla has created the course, which is the only one of its kind in the United States.

The course was first created after Zanolla approached the WIU Honors College with the idea in 2009. After two years, the course was requested by the WIU Department of Communication.

This is the sixth time students in the course will travel to Disney Parks for extended studies. Students must gain Zanolla's permission to enroll in the course.

After traveling to the parks, students are required to complete a final research project surrounding the research conducted while on campus and on site in Walt Disney World. This course is meant to help students realize how important communication is to everyday life.

Travel dates for the course are Jan. 6-14, 2015. The class has limited enrollment and may not be offered again until Spring 2016.

Interested students can apply by April 7 by visiting wiu-sa.terradotta.com/?go=disneyworld. For more information, contact Zanolla at DA-Zanolla@wiu.edu.
