Schobert Awarded Centennial Honors Scholarship

MACOMB, IL – Belleville Township West High School senior Kryndle Schobert, of Belleville (IL), has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Kryndle said she is considering majoring in engineering physics and/or graphic design at Western.

Schobert said when she initially visited Western, she was impressed by the professors and their passion for teaching.

At Western, Schobert would like to participate in art clubs, or archery and volunteering locally, including at food pantries.

In high school, Schobert participated in the visual arts club, the National Honor Society, the book club and her high school's newspaper.

After graduation from WIU, Schobert plans to continue on to graduate school.
