WIU Broadcasting Students Accept State Awards

MACOMB, IL – Students in Western Illinois University's Department of Broadcasting were in Peoria over the weekend to collect 13 awards in the Students in Illinois News Broadcasters Association annual competition. The number of nominations was a record for the WIU department, with the previous number set at 10 from 2008.
WIU award winners include:
TV Newscast: First place, Live at 4.
Radio Play-by-Play: First place - Nico Haeflinger, a senior broadcasting major from Marengo, IL
Radio Sports Reporting: First place – Tyler Eddy, a junior broadcasting major from Farmington, IL
Radio Use of Sound: First place – Chris Lovingood, a senior broadcasting major from Peoria, IL
Soft TV Program: First place - Good Morning Macomb
TV Sports Program: Second place – "Pigskin Preview," hosted by Andrew Bacon, a junior broadcasting major from Chatham, IL
TV Videography: Second place – Andrew Hoffman, a junior broadcasting major from Morrison, IL
TV News Reporting: Second place - Lovingood
Radio News Reporting: Second place – Lovingood
TV Sports Reporting: Second place – Haeflinger
Radio Play-By-Play: Third place – Knock
Videography: Third place – Bacon
Radio Use of Sound: Third place – Bacon
