Oakley Retirement Reception Set for May 6

MACOMB, IL – A retirement reception for Beth Oakley, an administrative aide for the Office of the Vice President of Student Services at Western Illinois University will be held from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 in the Multicultural Center. Remarks begin at 4:15 p.m.
Oakley began at WIU in April 1987 as a clerk in Student Residential Programs. She was promoted to secretary III in June 1988, secretary IV in Nov. 1989 and staff secretary in July 1994.
In December 1997, Oakley was reassigned to the Office of the Vice President of Student Services. She was promoted to administrative secretary in Sept. 2005 and to her current position in Oct. 2006.
Oakley was named Civil Service Employee of the Month in April 2012 and Civil Service Employee of the Year in 2012.
