MACOMB, IL - Oswego East High School senior Nicholas Ebelhack, of Plainfield (IL), has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Ebelhack plans to pursue degrees in history education and political science at Western.

"I selected Western based on its reputation for its teaching program, along with its affordability," said Ebelhack. "If a student is looking for an affordable and quality education, Western is a perfect choice."

At Western, Ebelhack would like to participate in drama-related activities, as well as intramurals and club sports.

In high school, Ebelhack participated in drama, as an actor and a technician, as well as varsity Scholastic Bowl.

After graduation, Ebelhack would like to teach high school history. He has also considered law school or joining the Peace Corps.
