Madigan Receives PAS Award

MACOMB, IL -- Illinois Arts Council Agency Chair Shirley Madigan was recognized with the Western Illinois University Performing Arts Society's (PAS) William E. Brattain Distinguished Service Award at an event held on the Macomb campus May 6. The Brattain award, named for former WIU Associate Vice President for Student Services William E. Brattain, is given for significant contributions and support of the arts in the community. The Illinois Arts Council Agency serves the people of Illinois through a variety of grants and services, primarily geared to supporting the state's arts sector; advancing arts education; and fostering creativity and working artists. Madigan was appointed to the Illinois Arts Council Agency in 1976, and has served as chair for 25 years.
