WIU HR to Host Summer Socials for Employees

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's Human Resources office will host a variety of opportunities for WIU employees to mingle with colleagues and coworkers from all over the Macomb campus.

Faculty, staff and administrators and their spouses or partners are invited to attend any and all of the events. Each event will feature a special guest speaker, who will provide a brief overview of their respective Western or community work department. A cash bar will be available at each event.

• Thursday, May 29 – Kick-off Event, 4:45-6 p.m., West Central Illinois (WCI) Arts Center (25 East Side Square), with special guest Nancy Crossman, executive director of the WCI Arts Center.

• Thursday, June 12 – Take a Walk on the Wild Side, 4:45-6:30 p.m., WIU Horn Field Lodge, with special guest Mindy Pheiffer, WIU Horn Field Campus program coordinator.

• Wednesday, June 18 – Books, Buses, a Bold Blend, 4:45-6 p.m., Macomb Country Club, with special guest Jude Kiah, University Union Bookstore and Go West Transit director.

• Wednesday, July 9 – Everything You Never Knew About Rocky, 4:45-6 p.m., Rocky's Bar and Grill, with special guest Jeff Hancks, libraries archivist and associate professor.

• Thursday, July 17 – It's Our Mission… Employee Wellness, 4:45-6 p.m., Café Aroma, with special guests the WIU Employee Wellness Committee.

• Wednesday, Aug. 6 – Building Basketball the Wright Way, 4:45-6 p.m., Western Hall East Arena, with special guests Billy Wright, WIU head basketball coach, and Tommy Bell, WIU athletic director.
