Spicer Services Set

MACOMB, IL -- Services for J. Pat Spicer, a retired industrial education and technology professor at Western Illinois University, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, at the Church Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macomb. Spicer, 72, died July 13 in Springfield.

Spicer taught vocational education at Western from 1982 to 2004. During his time at Western, he taught graduate level drafting courses, among other teaching assignments, and served as adviser for independent study students. He also worked with the Lamoine Valley Vocational System (LVVS), which provided vocational training at Western for area high school students. Spicer received the outstanding teaching award in 1987, and received a Professional Achievement Award in 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela, and one son, one daughter, one stepson and one stepdaughter.
