MACOMB, IL – Beu Health Center Medical Assistant Gina Billingsley has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for July.

Billingsley was hired in her current position in August 2004.

According to her nominator, Billingsley is a dependable, hard worker who takes a lot of initiative.

"She truly cares about the students and goes the extra mile to call patients of the Beu to see how they are doing after an appointment," the nominator added. "She is always willing to meet the needs of the students and help in any area she is asked to help with. Gina works to provide positive examples of the excellence, which we continue to strive for."

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.

The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) representative Alisha Barnett at AA-Barnett@wiu.edu.
