Western Illinois University's CBT Professional Development Series Sept. 8-18

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology (CBT) will host a professional development series Monday, Sept. 8 through Thursday, Sept. 18.

The series offers an array of sessions to WIU CBT students to prepare them for the job search and a career in business. Students have an opportunity to attend sessions on professional dress, résumé building, interviewing, social media and dining etiquette. Students will also have an opportunity to test their leadership skills during the ROTC Leadership Reaction Course, learn about student organizations at the Get Involved Fair and interact with CBT alumni and employers during panel discussions.

Kristin Andress, WIU alumna and CEO of Andress Strategy Consulting in San Diego, CA, will give a keynote speech at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 entitled "Imagine Being in a Life You Love." She will address how to develop a personal brand and image; tips for overcoming excuses around time, energy, money and people (TEMP); the value of "super champions;" how to get what you want and need and the call to contribute.
