Counseling Center to Host Depression Screening Day Sept. 18

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University Counseling Center will host a National Depression Screening Day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18 in Memorial Hall, room 102.

October is National Depression Awareness month, and in conjunction, the Counseling Center will provide information about the signs and symptoms of depression and the opportunity to participate in anonymous depression screening.

Participants will receive informational material and view a brief video on the causes and symptoms of depression and suicide, as well as information regarding treatment of depression. Participants should allow 45 minutes to complete the screening.

The screening is free and open to WIU students, faculty and staff.
