Charles A. Spencer Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Professor Emeritus Charles A. Spencer, 73, of Vermillion, SD passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10 in Vermillion.
Spencer came to WIU in August 1988 after serving as the chair of the division of health, physical education and recreation ad the University of South Dakota. At WIU, he also served as dean of the College of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (now recreation, park and tourism administration). . He retired from WIU in December 2005.
Spencer received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Indiana University and received his doctorate at the University of South Dakota
He is survived by his wife and one daughter. Private memorial services will be held at a later date, and Spencer requested no memorials or flowers.
