MACOMB, IL — The Western Illinois University Wind Ensemble Veterans' Concert will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The concert will be conducted by WIU music Professor Mike Fansler. The concert is open free to the public.

"It is our pleasure to honor those veterans and family members who have made and continue to make sacrifices for our freedom," said Fansler. "My brother served in the Air Force and I have many friends still serving. Our musical tribute, although paling in comparison to their efforts is our attempt to honor the American heroes we look up to."

WW II veteran John Moon, age 98, will be guest conducting "Americans We," by Henry Fillmore. Master Sergeant Doug Mattsey will be master of ceremonies and Professor Matt Bean will be narrator. Members of WIU's ROTC program will be there to present colors.
