MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University Difficult Conversations, also known as DifCons, will present "Hooking Up: We're All Doing It?" from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the University Union Lamoine Room.

The event will incorporate information about the types of messages society sends about how people are "supposed" to act, dress and feel in terms of sexual relationships and sexual identity. It will feature a panel and small group conversations that will explore how perspectives about "hooking up" can vary based on people's backgrounds, sexual orientation, and age.

The event is part of the Difficult Conversations series, which is designed to provide space for students, faculty, and staff to come together to discuss challenging issues. The discussions are organized and sponsored by the Expanding Cultural Diversity Project.

For more information about the series, contact Debra Miretzky, from the WIU Department of Educational and Interdisciplinary Studies, at d-miretzky@wiu.edu. The event is free and refreshments will be served.
