WIU Alum, Campus Recreation Pro to Give Talk at Spencer Rec Center Nov. 5

MACOMB, IL — New week, Western Illinois University alumnus James Wayne, the coordinator of leadership and special programs at Illinois State University Campus Recreation, will present to Western students interested in pursuing careers in the recreation and sport industries.

Wayne, who earned his bachelor's degree in accountancy in 2003 and his master's degree in sport management in 2006 from WIU, will speak at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center's Colgate Room. He will cover leadership and working as a campus recreation professional.

Prior to starting at Illinois State University in 2008, Wayne worked at Southeast Missouri State University. His responsibilities at ISU Campus Recreation include providing leadership, fiscal responsibility and facility management for the sport club program. He also monitors budgets for the program, as well reviews all risk management and liability forms for each club.

Wayne's presentation is made possible via a grant from the WIU Visiting Lecture Series and is open free to WIU students, faculty and staff members.
