Col. Rock III 2015 Calendar at WIU Bookstore

MACOMB, IL -- There's no cuter way to keep track of the months and days than with the Western Illinois University 2015 Col. Rock III Calendar.

Designed by University Relations Graphic Designer Caren Bordowitz, the 2015 calendar, featuring photos of Western's adorable four-legged mascot taken by WIU Visual Production Center photographers, is on sale for $5.50 at the University Union Bookstore and online at the Bookstore at http://tinyurl.com/o58tl78. A portion of the proceeds from calendar sales will go toward the Col. Rock III Fund, established by the WIU Foundation in February 2012, which helps meet travel-related, food, health care and "clothing" expenses.

The 12-month calendar features photos of Col. Rock III (aka Rocky) around campus and in the community, as well as links to Western websites and select WIU-related dates, such as Col. Rock's birthday, Founders' Day, Homecoming and Purple and Gold Day, to name a few.

Rocky, who turned 4 on March 3, has been at the center of numerous Western activities since joining the WIU family in May 2010 as a 10-week-old puppy. WIU alumnus Joe Roselieb, director of residential facilities at Western, is Rocky's caretaker.

The English bulldog was donated to Western by Richard and Beth Siess of the Siess Ranch in Seneca, KS. Dr. Karen Blakeley of Macomb's All Pets Veterinary Clinic and the WIU School of Agriculture, along with other University and community organizations and individuals, make sure Col. Rock's care is tended to.
