WIU Winter DanceWorks Concert Dec. 4-6

MACOMB, IL — Western Illinois University's annual Winter DanceWorks concert, featuring student and instructor choreography by the University Dance Theatre (UDT), will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4-Saturday, Dec. 6 in the Hainline Theatre.

Candance Winters March, professor of dance and co-artistic director of UDT, will present her piece danced by four dancers entitled "Bach Cello Suites." David Marchant, the 2014 fall guest artist for UDT, will present an improvisation piece with five dancers titled "Black Canvas." Marchant is professor of the practice at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, and specializes in aesthetic theory, technique, composition and improvisation in the concert art of contemporary dance. Lara Little, instructor of dance at WIU, will present her piece of seven dancers titled "Signature."

Student choreographers include Jessica Baker, Carissa Jurczyk, Meg Kremer, Shannon Phillips, Nikki Sangiacomo and Aryana Synder.
