WIU Faculty, Ensemble Part of Illinois Music Educators Association Conference

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University will be well represented at the Illinois Music Educators Association All State Conference at the Peoria Civic Center, beginning Thursday, Jan. 29.

Several WIU faculty members and one musical ensemble will be presenting clinics and conferences throughout the event.

WIU participants include:

• The WIU Wind Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 with conductor WIU Professor Mike Fansler.

• WIU Assistant Music Professor Brad Pierson will present "Instruments Can Sing Too: How the Music of the Renaissance Could Solve Musical Problems for Your Choral Program," from 11 a.m.-noon Friday, Jan. 30 in the Peoria Civic Center, room 212/213.

• WIU Associate Music Professor Richard Cangro will present "Cooperative Music Learning: Fostering Independence" from 11 a.m.-noon Friday, Jan. 30 in the Peoria Civic Center, room 222.

• The WIU conference reception will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 in the Peoria Civic Center's Lexus Room.
