MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's Bachelor of Business in Accounting was named number 11 on a list of the 30 most affordable bachelor's degrees in accounting in the United States with an AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation by Accounting Degree Review.

According to Accounting Degree Review's website, the group compared schools by looking at their annual tuition and fees for out-of-state incoming freshmen enrolling in the 2014-2015 academic year.

Western's accounting program is one of the University's 12 Signature Academic Programs because of the dual accreditation by AACSB, as well as the nationally recognized student organization and internship opportunities offered to WIU students.

Since the article by Accounting Degree Review was published, the number of U.S. institutions with AACSB accounting accreditation has grown from 170 to 181, with a total of 716 business schools in 48 countries and territories having earned AACSB accreditation.

WIU's College of Business and Technology (CBT) was established approximately 45 years ago and offers courses on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses. To learn more about WIU's CBT, visit wiu.edu/cbt. For more information about WIU's accounting program, visit wiu.edu/accountancy.
