Calhoun Named Director of University Technology at WIU-QC

MOLINE, IL – Jeff Calhoun, Linux systems administrator at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has been named director of University Technology (uTech) for the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities campus. Calhoun began his duties Jan. 20.

Calhoun served in his position at the University of Illinois since 2012. Previously, he was the vice president of technology for the McDonough Telephone Cooperative (2008-2011) and was president/CEO of leadership for Project Management (1995-2007).

At WIU, Calhoun is responsible for overall planning, development, implementation, maintenance and oversight of the information technology infrastructure and IT support services at the Quad Cities campus. He also will provide leadership in advancing the priorities and goals of uTech for the information technology infrastructure and IT support services at the QC campus.

"We are pleased to welcome Jeff to the uTech team. He has more than 25 years of diverse technology experience, including software development, system and network administration, website design and help desk management," said Stephen Frazier, executive director of University Technology.

Calhoun earned a bachelor's degree in math from WIU.
