Fulbright Scholar to Speak at WIU March 11

MACOMB, IL – Columbia University Fulbright Scholar Rebecca Adami will speak at Western Illinois University at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 in Stipes 121.

Adami, who teaches in Columbia's Institute for the Study of Human Rights, will deliver "Women's Roles in the Development of 'Human Rights.'" Her post-doctoral project, "Women of the Declaration: Exploring Counternarratives on Human Rights from 1946-48," centers on the United Nations female delegates who were part of drafting the Universal Declaration on Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.

The lecture, which is open free to the public, is co-sponsored by the WIU Department of History, WIU Department of Women's Studies, Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, the WIU Visiting Lectures Committee, the Council on Student Activities Funds and the Institute of International Information.
