Electronic Music Mini Festival comes to WIU March 9-10

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University's New Music Festival will host the annual Electronic Music Midwest Mini Festival Monday-Tuesday, March 9-10 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The festival, which is open free to the public, will feature two days of electronic and electroacoustic music and will include an eight-speaker surround sound diffusion system. Concerts will include electronic music both with and without traditional musical instruments.

The New Music Festival at WIU provides and opportunity for the community and the region to hear new music and to meet recognized composers and performers. In addition to faculty and student composers and performers, the festival will feature 10 visiting composers, a series of lectures, concerts and workshops.

The concerts, all held in the COFAC Recital Hall, will be Monday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, March 10 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
