WIU Students Honored at National Broadcasting Conference

MACOMB, IL – Six Western Illinois University broadcasting students were named finalists during the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Golden Microphone Award competition, held over the weekend in New York City.
The awards ceremony was part of the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System's (IBS) annual conference.
Students named finalists include:
• Emily Manley, a sophomore broadcasting major, of Highland, IL, and Jason Chauvin, a sophomore broadcasting major, of Des Plaines, IL – Best Public Affairs Event/Promotion
• Josh Chlebanowski, a senior law enforcement and justice administration major, of Romeoville, IL – Best Liner
• Jeremy McCool, a senior broadcasting major, of Imperial Beach, CA – Best Liner
• Tony Jones, a senior broadcasting major, of Poplar Grove, IL - Best On-Air Personality
• Dave Mitchell, a senior broadcasting major, of Riverside, IL – Best Promotions Director
