WIU Board to Consider Tuition, Fees, and Room and Board Increase

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees will consider a 1.72 percent increase in the University's Cost Guarantee (all costs: tuition, fees and room and board) for undergraduate students and a 1.69 percent increase for graduate students entering the WIU-Macomb campus [1.98 percent increase for WIU-QC students] in Fall 2015 at the Friday, March 27 meeting in Macomb.

The WIU Board meeting will begin at 8 a.m. with a scheduled closed session in accordance with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act. The open meeting will begin at approximately 9 a.m., following the executive session.

The Board will consider the FY'16 student health insurance fee recommendation; an honorary doctorate recommendation; and purchases of $500,000 or more. The board will also consider a revision to the Employee Benefits Parental Leave Policy.

The Board will hear reports on contributions, financial aid programs, the review and elimination of current programs and reinvestment in new programs, an external audit and long-term planning.
