MOLINE, IL — Have you ever wished you could identify the common and uncommon birds in the local area? Need help planning your retirement and managing your assets? Want to develop your family tree? The Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Lifelong Learning program is a great opportunity to learn something new.

Introduction to Birding will teach students about the bird species in the area. Students should come dressed to be outside and bring binoculars because the meetings will be at various outdoor locations. Session I will meet Tuesdays, April 14 and 18, and May 12. Session II will meet Saturdays, April 18 and May 2 and 16. Both sessions will meet from 9-10:30 a.m.

The first meeting will be held at the Lock and Dam 14 parking lot, LeClaire, IA. The second meeting will be held at Credit Island, at the parking area in front of the playground equipment. The final location is to be determined by the class. Participants can choose between attending session I or session II.

Financial Survival in Retirement will assist with planning for retirement and managing assets. Registered investment advisor/financial planner Drue Kampmann will advise students. Session I will meet April 28 and May 5, and Session II will meet May 12 and 19. Both sessions will meet from 6- 8 p.m. at the Western-Quad Cities Campus (3300 River Drive Moline, IL).

The genealogy course will serve as an introduction to genealogical research and aid in the development of a family tree. The course will focus on free sources of data collection and cloud-based methods of data management. This course will be held May 2 from 2-4 p.m. at the Western-Quad Cities Campus.
