MACOMB, IL – Orion Community Unit High School senior Natalie Jacobson, of Orion, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which awards $10,000 per year to academically high-achieving students.

High school students with an ACT score of 30 or higher and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

"WIU is in a good location and has a great campus," Jacobson said of her WIU decision. "The deciding factor was the opportunities they had for my major and that I qualified for the highest in-house scholarship."

Jacobson said she expects to major in engineering at Western.

In high school, Jacobson participated in her school's gaming club, cross country, writing club and worked at the writing center.
