MACOMB, IL – Heidi Ausbury, an office support specialist in the intercollegiate athletics department at Western Illinois University, has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for April.

Ausbury was hired as an office support associate for Facilities Management in August 2006. She was promoted to her current position in February.

According to Ausbury's nominator, she completed several tasks that were not part of her job description, as well as going above and beyond what was expected.

"Heidi is a perfectionist and is very dependable," her nominator said. "Things always seem to go well when she is involved."

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.

The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) representative Alisha Looney at AA-Looney@wiu.edu.
