MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University welcomed area high school students to the Macomb campus Friday, April 10 for the 10th annual Accounting Challenge. Sponsored by WIU's Department of Accounting and Finance, Western's chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) and the Illinois CPA Society, the event gave area students a chance to showcase their skills through a written competition, as well as provided information about Western's accountancy program and the WIU College of Business and Technology.

Eight area high schools and 70 students competed to win WIU scholarships to go toward the WIU accounting program. Participating schools included: Astoria, Hamilton, Knoxville, Macomb, Rushville-Industry, Spoon River Valley, United and Williamsfield high schools.
