MACOMB, IL - - Four Western Illinois University students received first place at the Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) Midwest Region Best Practices Competition March 28 in Indianapolis.

Claire Costello (Camanche, IA), Erin Hutchins (Avon, IL), Malia Pryor (Macomb) and Jennifer Symmonds (Keokuk, IA) presented on educating the members of BAP about global practices and cultures that differ from their own. They submitted their presentation in the International Impact category and have now been invited to compete at the BAP National Meeting in Milwakee, WI, in August.

WIU's BAP, the national honors organization for financial information professionals, competed against other universities in the region, including the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Eastern Illinois University.

Throughout the year, the WIU chapter of BAP organized various activities around four main areas: international accounting and business, cultural awareness, cultural interaction and cultural practices.
