Winters-March Retirement Reception

MACOMB, IL - A retirement reception for Western Illinois University Professor and Co-director of the University Dance Theatre Candace Winters-March will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, May 1 in the Hainline Theatre lobby.

In her 28 years at WIU, Winters-March has taught all courses offered in the dance minor curriculum, as well as Laban movement analysis and allied movement therapies, such as Bartenieff Fundamentals and Pilates. Her areas of specialization are modern dance technique, dance history, movement analysis, Pilates and performance/choreography.

Winters-March is currently serving a second consecutive term on the Central Region Board of Directors for the American College Dance Festival Association. She has been the recipient of many grants, including the prestigious "Lila Wallace Readers Digest Grant."

She has also served as an administrative intern under the mentorship of WIU President Emeritus Al Goldfarb, is a former committee member of the General Education Council and has been the recipient of various awards, including the "Outstanding Teacher Award," at the department and college levels.

The event is open to all friends, students and alumni.
