MACOMB, IL -- A Western Illinois University admissions counselor is a star.

D'Angelo Taylor, a regional admissions counselor serving the St. Louis metro region for WIU, received the Rising Star Award at the recent Missouri Association for College Admissions Counseling (MOACAC) 2015 Annual Conference.

The Rising Star Award is given to a MOACAC member new to the college admissions profession and who has contributed to helping students by enthusiastic and professional involvement.

"D'Angelo's devotion to assist students and families through their college search process has been recognized by his peers," said WIU Admissions Director Andy Borst. "He is an asset to the Admissions team and to Western."

Taylor, a WIU alumnus, joined Western's Office of Admissions in Fall 2013, and was named the St. Louis metro regional admissions counselor in August 2014. He is an active member of STARR (St. Louis Area Regional Representatives) and is currently the co-chair for MOACAC's Inclusion, Access, and Success committee.
