Junior Golf Camp June 2-5

MACOMB, IL -- Parents of area youth should have the "fore"-sight to begin thinking about summer activities now, such as the 20th annual Macomb Area Junior Golf Association (MAJGA) Golf Camp.

The MAJGA will sponsor the 20th annual Junior Golf Camp Tuesday, June 2 through Friday, June 5 at the Western Illinois University Harry Mussatto Golf Course, 1215 Tower Rd., Macomb.

The camp will be held from 12:30-4 p.m. for students entering fourth grade through high school. Instruction will be provided by Mel Blasi, director of golf at WIU and men's golf coach; Lia Biehl Lukkarinen, PGA and LPGA professional and WIU women's golf coach; Garry Sutton, PGA professional, Macomb Country Club; and Danny Torrance, PGA professional, Gold Hills Golf Course. They will be assisted by college and high school golfers.

The entry fee, which is due by Thursday, May 28, is $50 and includes a T-shirt, souvenir packet, rule book, refreshments and camp photo. The entry fee for two or more students from the same family is $40 per student.

To register, send a check, payable to Macomb Area Junior Golf Association, along with the player's name, telephone number, address, age, grade in school (Fall 2015), T-shirt size (S, M, L, XL), gender and number of years in camp to: Harry Mussatto Golf Course, 1215 Tower Rd., Macomb, IL 61455.

In addition to the 2015 camp, the MAJGA will host three tournaments at local courses this summer (June 12, Mussatto Course; June 19, Macomb Country Club; and June 30, Gold Hills). All tournaments start at 9 a.m. and the entry fees are $10 (four or nine holes) and $15 (18 holes) for each tournament. Visit the MAJGA website for complete details.
