CUPP Block Party Sept. 9

MACOMB, IL – The Community-University Partnership Program (CUPP) will hold its 10th annual Welcome Back Party from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 on the front lawn of Sherman Hall (rain location: University Union Heritage Room). The event, which is open free to the public, will feature music, food, games and prizes.

"We are pleased to partner with the City of Macomb to host this annual block party," said Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas. "This event is the perfect occasion for students, faculty, staff and community members to join together to celebrate the start of a new academic year."

A table fair, featuring local businesses, will also be part of the event.

"Macomb residents and members of the WIU community are encouraged to come out for an evening of fun, food and getting acquainted," said Macomb Mayor Mike Inman.

The CUPP organization, comprised of University and community representatives, was formed to promote relations between the college and the community. CUPP meets several times a year to discuss topics of importance to both communities.
