Navy Band Commodores to Perform in Macomb Nov. 5

MACOMB, IL – The "Commodores," the United States Navy Band's jazz ensemble from Washington D.C., will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5 at Macomb High School's Fellheimer Auditorium.

The Navy Band Commodores feature 19 top jazz and "big band" musicians offering a mixture of styles ranging from the authentic sounds of the swing era to contemporary high-energy music. Dizzy Gillespie, Grover Washington Jr., Louis Bellson and Pete Christlieb are a few of the great artists who have appeared with the ensemble.

While the concert is free, tickets are required to gain admissions. Tickets are now available in Western Illinois University's Hainline Theatre or at the Macomb Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (MACVB). Any unclaimed seats will be available to non-ticket holders just prior to concert time.

This performance is sponsored by the WIU Jazz and Macomb High School bands, the WIU College of Fine Arts and Communication and the MACVB.
