MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Broadcasting and Journalism Instructor Jasmine Crighton has been selected as a National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) Faculty Fellowship recipient for the January 2016 NATPE Marketplace and Conference in Miami Beach, FL.

According to the NATPE website, the Faculty Fellowship Program provides selected college and university media faculty with complete access to the sessions and activities of the annual NATPE market and conference. The goal of the fellowship program is twofold: to expose the educational community to current television issues and practices, and to foster improved communication and cooperation between educators and the industry.

Crighton serves as news coordinator of NEWS3, the student-produced newscast in the WIU Department of Broadcasting and Journalism. Crighton, an Emmy award-winning technical director, came to Western in Fall 2012. She teaches several classes in the department, including television studio production.
