Yeast Retirement Reception Dec. 17

MACOMB, IL — A retirement reception for Judy Yeast, associate director of Campus Recreation at Western Illinois University, will be held from 2-4 p.m., with a program beginning at 3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17 in the Multicultural Center. Yeast will retire this year after 34 years of service.

Yeast been at Western since 1981, when she started as the director of Women's Intramurals.

In 2011, Yeast was honored for her service and contributions to the recreation sports field by the Illinois Intramural-Recreational Sports Association with the IIRSA Service Award. In 2010, she received the national Horace Moody Award, presented by the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), for her contributions to student development. In 2004, she received the University Administrative Community Service Award at WIU. Yeast was also an appointed member to Illinois Governor Jim Edgar's Council on Health and Physical Education in 1994. In November/December 2015, Yeast was featured in the Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) series "COAP Employee Spotlight."

Yeast earned an M.S. in sport management from Western Illinois University in 1981 and a B.S. from Quincy (College) University (Quincy, IL).
