MACOMB, IL — In 2015, the Western Illinois University chapter of Sigma Alpha, a professional agriculture sorority, received the Most Improved Chapter Grade Point Average (GPA) Award. According to Sigma Alpha President Kasey Meadows, the honor was bestowed at the Sigma Alpha National Convention last August.

"We have had many members who achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher. We have put in place many study hours and sisterhood sessions dedicated to schoolwork. Scholarship is one of the three pillars for Sigma Alpha, so we are proud to receive this award," Meadows noted.

In addition to the award, the WIU Sigma Alpha chapter received $250 for the honor, which Meadows said has been deposited in a professional development fund for members to use to attend the organization's national convention.
