WIU Knoblauch Cafe Nutritional Lunches

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Knoblauch Café will serve nutritional lunches every Tuesday throughout the spring semester from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Organized and run by students in the dietetics, fashion merchandising and hospitality (DFMH) department, Knoblauch Café provides them with a hands-on experience with running a foodservice facility. The cafe is located in the Knoblauch Corporate Dining Room, room 239.
Every meal is $7, which includes beverage and dessert. Carry out and delivery are also available. Items that have quotations (") around them were grown by WIU horticulture students.

Turkey and bacon Panini with avocado mayo and "micro greens" or veggie Panini with pesto, baked potato soup and turtle crepe

Lemon chicken piccata or veggie piccata topped with "parsley and thyme," linguine noodles, garlic bread and fruit pizza
Tuesday, Mar. 8
Herbed pork tenderloin or veggie stuffed Portobello mushroom, twice baked potato with "chives," roasted green beans and pineapple upside down cake

Oven fried chicken/stuffed peppers or mac and cheese, glazed carrots and strawberry shortcake topped with "chocolate mint"

Chicken or veggie quesadilla, black bean and couscous salad and flourless chocolate cake (gluten free) topped with "chocolate mint"

Lasagna or veggie lasagna, "spinach and arugula" salad, cheese biscuit and salted caramel cheesecake cupcakes

Italian beef or "spinach" quiche, broccoli salad and monster cookie ice cream sundae
Tuesday April 19
Turkey or veggie club with "butter lettuce," Chinese coleslaw and chocolate layer torte
Tuesday April 26
Grilled flatbread pizza (topped with "cilantro") or veggie pizza and mixed green salad signature poppyseed dressing
