MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Student Government Association (SGA) President Wil Gradle will present a State of the Student Address at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 9 in the Sherman Hall Auditorium (third floor).

Speakers include SGA Speaker of the Senate Jacob Tomlinson, WIU Student Trustee Michael Quigley and Gradle.

Gradle said he encourages his fellow students to attend to learn more about the budget impasse and how it is affecting WIU, and to hear factual information regarding the budget. Faculty and staff are also welcome to attend.

"There are many rumors and misconceptions being shared among the student body, and we want to use this time to present truthful information to our peers," Gradle said. "Not only do we want to dispel these rumors, we want to share the many positive happenings going on at Western Illinois University.

"While the lack of a budget is at the forefront of the news, Western Illinois University continues to do wonderful things," he added. "This University has every intention of staying open, and we, as students, will continue to let our voices be heard."
