Arendt Exhibit Opens at WIU Gallery March 5

MACOMB, IL – An exhibit by Coastal Carolina University Associate Professor Jim Arendt, titled "Those of Us Still Living," will open at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery Saturday, March 5 and will run through April 23.

Arendt, who is also director of the art gallery at Coastal Carolina University, is an artist who explores "the shifting paradigms of labor and place through narrative figure painting, drawing, prints, fabric and sculpture," according to his website.

A reception for the exhibit will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, March 10 and will feature a gallery talk by Arendt at 5 p.m.

Arendt's work has been exhibited internationally in numerous group and solo shows, winning many prestigious awards. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Kendall College of Art and Design and his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of South Carolina.
