MACOMB, IL – Entry forms are now available for the inaugural ExTri, an extreme triathlon planned at Spring Lake Saturday, April 30.

The race is being planned by race directors John Slater and Gil Belles and supported by Spring Lake Park Manager Ryan Hansen.

Beginning at 9 a.m., ExTri participants will swim 400 yards from the dock area on the south shore out to a pontoon boat and then return. The second leg will be mountain biking over eight miles of rough trails in the woods of the park, and the final leg of the triathlon will be a 2.5-mile run over a rough off-road trail course.

In an effort to maximize safety, the first-time event will be limited to 20 participants. There will also be no gender or age divisions.

Applications, which can be downloaded at http://on.fb.me/1pb0jbR, close Friday, April 15. To guarantee a t-shirt size, enter before March 31. The entry fee is $20, and checks, payable to Spring Lake Management, can be sent to Belles at 221 Columbia St., Macomb.

For additional information, email Belles at AG-Belles@wiu.edu.
