Who We Are: Hello! We are the Katz family.

Ashley: I was born and raised in Macomb, and received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from WIU. I am Macomb through and through and take pride in calling Macomb my hometown. Now tossing it over to Nick....

Nick: Hello! I'm Nick and was born and raised in Southern California and I am also a WIU alum with my master's degree in College Student Personnel. I fell in love with Macomb during my time here and Ashley was a great salesperson to get me to settle down in this great Midwestern town. Together we are parents to three kids - Hayden (7), Harper (4) and Hattie (2) - who all proudly recited the WIU fight song before their ABC's They love WIU just as much as their parents do.

What We Do:

Ashley: I am the assistant director of the University Union, as well as an adviser to Delta Zeta.

Nick: I am the Associate Director of the Office of Student Activities.

Together, we are proud advisers of WIU Dance Marathon....FTK!

Why We Love WIU: WIU means so much to us, it is hard to put into words how to describe it. WIU has not only provided us both with a priceless education and amazing experiences outside of the classroom, but it is also the place that brought us together. I mean, how else would a girl from the Midwest end up with some guy from the west coast? WIU makes connections happen such as ours every day.

We are not only appreciative of WIU contributing to our personal connection but also to the connections that we make in our daily work. We have worked alongside stellar professionals at WIU as well as graduate students. Above all else, we work with students who are amazing. Students come to WIU with a mission to make a difference and leave their marks on this campus. We are just very grateful that we can play a part in their WIU experience - whether it be planning a program in the Union, helping decide what student organization is the best fit for them, or advising them in organizations and watching them become passionate for causes that are bigger than themselves.

We are thankful every day for the work that we do and well be forever indebted to WIU to providing us with the opportunity. Go Necks!
