Robinson Services Set

MACOMB, IL -- Services for Western Illinois University English Professor Emeritus Forrest Dean Robinson will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 30 at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Robinson, 84, passed away March 27 in Macomb.

Robinson was a member of the WIU Department of English faculty for 27 years. He also served as the editor of the quarterly literary magazine, The Mississippi Valley Review, for 20 years, during which time the magazine won the Illinois Arts Council Award for Literature 23 times. An accomplished scholar and poet, Robinson had two volumes of poetry published, "The Champaign Letters" and "After the Fire," as well as Hemingway scholarship, travel writing and one short story. Prior to coming to Macomb, he taught in public schools, at Ohio University and at Heidelberg College.

He is survived by his wife, Sulah Ann; four daughters and two sons; one sister; and 11 grandchildren.
