MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Physical Education Professor Emeritus Kathleen Pearson, 87, passed away Thursday March 24 in Macomb. She was born to George and Martha Feikes Pearson on March 25, 1928. Cremation has been accorded. There will be no services.
Pearson joined the Department of Physical Education for Women at Western Illinois University in 1962 and taught until her retirement in 1988. She served as vice president of the Faculty Senate, was an active member of several state, regional, national and international professional organizations, and wrote and published many articles in professional hournals. She was named the Western Illinois University Faculty Lecturer in 1985. Prior to joining the WIU faculty, Pearson was the playground director for the Chicago Board of Education.
She is survived by one sister and one brother, as well as three nephews and four nieces and numerous great nephews and nieces.
