WIU Alumnus Field to Speak at Western April 2

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University alumnus Matthew Field will speak in the University Union's Sandburg Theatre at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2.

Field received his bachelor's degree in history in 2000 and his master's degree in history in 2002, both from Western, and his doctoral degree in American Government from the University of Oklahoma. He is currently the exhibits and education program specialist in the visitor's center of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Previously, Field was a staff member for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on House Administration and a Carl Albert Congressional Fellow. He is also the author of "Congress, the Constitution and Divided Government," published in 2013.

The lecture, which is open free to the public, is part of the Phi Alpha Theta Illinois Regional History Conference, Friday-Saturday, April 1-2, at Western. For more information about the conference, visit bit.ly/1PHdxm7.
